Stream Buffer Planting Antietam Watershed (Maryland) Washongton County near Hagerstown, Md. This is another project as part of CBF’s Farm Stewardship Program in the Antietam watershed on Black Rock Creek. The site is a dairy farm where animals will be fenced out of the creek, stream banks will be graded and stabilized, and several hundred native trees and shrubs will be planted. The stream buffer will help restore the cold-water fishery on this tributary and help clean up the Bay. We encourage adults, families and community groups to volunteer. Refreshments and tools provided, but bring work gloves and shovels if you have them. Project partners include the Beaver Creek Watershed Association, Chesapeake Bay Trust, Mid-Atlantic Council of the Federation of Fly Fishers, Trout Unlimited, MD DNR-Forest Service and the US Fish & Wildlife Service.
